The concept

BESS containers on helical piles.

Steel piles screwed into natural ground. Pile caps and a load-bearing steel frame on top. Containers, substations, transformers and inverters land directly on the frame.

No concrete. No excavation. No soil exchange. The compound is foundation-ready as fast as the piles can be installed.

Where helical piles win

Three reasons EPCs choose helical for BESS on natural ground.

Concrete foundations on natural-state sites mean excavation, soil exchange, compaction and cure time before a single container can land. Helical piles skip all of it.

01 · Time

~50% faster install

No excavation. No soil exchange. No concrete cure. Containers land on a foundation that’s ready the same day a pile goes in — weeks shaved from the critical path.

02 · Cost

~50% lower foundation cost

Skip groundworks (excavation, soil exchange, compaction) and concrete supply. Lightweight equipment, smaller crews, fewer truck movements. The savings scale with the project.

03 · Carbon

~80% lower CO₂ per foundation

Concrete is carbon-heavy. Helical piles use Nordic low-carbon steel and skip the cement entirely. Fully recyclable end-of-life — pulled and reused or scrapped as raw steel.

What we deliver

Foundation scope under one accountable contract.

01

Site-specific design

Pile sizing per actual ground conditions and BESS layout — loads from containers, substations, transformers and inverters. Designed in-house by experienced geotechnical engineers.

02

EN 1090 manufacturing

Manufactured at Paalupiste’s EN 1090 Exc2 facility in Finland. Low-carbon Nordic steel, full traceability from mill certificate to installed pile.

03

Install — by us, or by your civil works contractor

Our crews install on a turnkey basis, or we supply piles plus installation criteria and training to your civil works contractor — keeping all groundworks under one trusted sub.

04

Year-round, scalable, recyclable

Installable in any weather. Scales from single-compound BESS to utility-scale storage facilities. Fully removable and recyclable at end of life.

How we work

From background materials to installed piles — in weeks.

  1. 1

    Background materials

You send the site’s ground investigation data, BESS layout, and equipment specs. NDA in place first if needed.

  2. 2

    Offer

We size the helical pile for your loads and ground, and provide a binding offer with installation schedule and price — usually within days, not weeks.

  3. 3

    Final design (if needed)

For complex or large compounds, we refine the pile design alongside your structural engineer or civil works contractor. End-to-end load path verified, drawings released for build.

  4. 4

    Manufacture, deliver, install

EN 1090 piles manufactured to your schedule. Delivered to site. Installed by our crews or by your civil works contractor with our installation criteria and support.

Your BESS commissions on schedule. Foundations off the critical path.
