Engineered for challenging ground

When the foundation stays put, the rack stays calibrated.

Treat the foundation as a secondary item on challenging ground and it shows — racks tilt, modules break. When the foundation moves, the rack moves — and the bid you won becomes a warranty case carried by the EPC, traced back to the racking spec.

Helicasol piles are engineered for exactly this ground. The helix plate sits below the weak surface layer, anchored in stable load-bearing soil. Length, diameter and helix size are sized site-by-site for each soil — co-designed with your bracket geometry so your racking stays calibrated season after season.

The market opening

Soft ground is a market,
not a no-go.

On peat, organic soils, soft clay or high water tables, the standard rammed C-profile post often can’t carry enough load. Even when a site looks fine on paper, your bracket can lose the bid if the foundation cost is too high. Helicasol helical piles are designed for exactly these soils, sized pile-by-pile to the actual ground. Sites your racking would otherwise lose are now buildable.

Where your C-profile post can’t hold

Your standard rammed C-profile post serves many of your sites. But on challenging soils — soft peat, organic soils, or frost-affected fill — friction-dependent designs simply won’t hold. The site passes the desk study — then your racking gets dropped in EPC bidding because the foundation maths don’t work.

Helical piles drop into your offer.

Where rammed C-profile can’t hold, helical piles do — capacity from helix bearing and shaft friction together, sized pile-by-pile to the actual ground. Add them to your standard package as the foundation line for tough sites. Your racking, your bid to the EPC, our piles in the ground — the site is buildable, the order is yours.

03 · The bracket detail

Pile-to-frame: sorted either side.

Helical piles need a different pile-to-frame fitting than your standard rammed-post bracket. It’s real engineering — but a detail next to the main fix. Co-engineered with us, or built by your metalwork team using our pile-side specs. Whoever holds the pen, the connection works.

Same racking. Same EPC bid. Now buildable on ground that would otherwise lose you the order.

How we work with you

    Geometry, loads & ground data

    First we sign an NDA — no data is shared before that. Then you send us the racking drawings and the load on each post. We also need the ground survey data and a site plan, usually provided by the developer or EPC. Without the ground data, we cannot size the pile.

    Pile design & capacity

    We size the helical piles for your loads and the actual ground, and verify the capacity by testing when needed. The bracket — the pile-to-frame connection — is designed either by us, together with you, or by your own team from our pile-side specifications. You decide.

  3. 3

    EN 1090 supply

    We manufacture the helical piles in-house at our EN 1090 Exc2 facility — brackets too, when engineered by us. One source, one quality standard, one accountable supplier.

Two ways to set it up

The commercial paths to the EPC

Route A · Pile supply only We quote helical piles to you. You include them in your foundation offer to the EPC — same channel, just helical instead of C-profile on tough sites.
Route B · Parallel direct supply We sell piles + install direct to the EPC. You sell racking direct to the EPC. We coordinate the technical compatibility during design.
